Don’t Come Home Netflix: Released all six episodes on October 31, 2024, the new Netflix series Don’t Come Home soon became a must-watch for fans of horror and science fiction. Set in Thailand, the narrative chronicles the terrifying trip Min, her mother Varee, and her grandmother Panida travel across as they negotiate family secrets and supernatural events.
Min wakes up to discover her bedroom items floating and an ominous red-eyed ghost staring her in the first episode, which opens in a classic horror sequence. Min’s fear gets more intense when her mother, Varee, begs her to open the door—probably in order to guard her. Later on, though, we find that the tale goes much beyond ghostly sightings.
Varee and Min go to an old family house tucked far into a rubber plantation. Haunted by something from her past, Varee tells Min to stay away from some parts of the house—especially her bedroom closet and a locked room. Alert and clinging to a loaded gun, Varee’s worries are not entirely clear. Not too long from now, odd events start to suggest secret facts and memories connected to this ancestral site.
Min feels isolated and alone. She wanders the house and catches sight of a masked girl her age, who seems and then disappears completely. Unknown to Min, the house hides a time machine created years ago by her grandmother, Panida. But this machine creates terrible anomalies and dangerous portals, not only moves people.
Trapped in an endless time loop, Min and Varee are actually the same person in a mind-bending turn-about. Driven to create the time machine in an attempt to undo her losses, Panida’s anguish over losing her family in an automobile accident decades ago motivated her. Rather, it has sad results since Min from the future is brought back to the 1990s, where Panida unintentionally names Varee as her daughter and raises her own granddaughter.
Varee finally finds the truth but encounters Panida’s incredulity and fury. Panida seriously injuries Varee by pushing her down a staircase in a violent confrontation. Varee’s spirit haunts the family house seeking the daughter she never had a chance to raise as the years go by. Appearing in episode one, this ghostly form is a legacy of Varee, always watching over Min in a sad, endless cycle.
Investigating Min’s disappearance, police inspector Fah finds an incredible secret in modern-day Thailand. Min is indeed Varee, confirmed by DNA evidence, which helps Fah to understand the impossible truth underlying the time loop. Recognizing no one would believe her, Fah leaves the police department keeping her discovery under wraps.
Min, Varee, Don’t Come Home, and even the ghost haunting them are several iterations of the same person caught in their own timelines. With its original mix of horror, mystery, and sci-fi, Netflix’s Don’t Come Home transports viewers into a terrible cycle that might never finish.
