Car Crashes into Piccadilly Circus Restaurant, Three Hospitalized

Last night, a car crash turned the usually bustling Piccadilly Circus into a chaotic scene. At around 6.50pm, a vehicle left the carriageway on Coventry Street and crashed directly into the Angus Steakhouse.

Three people were hospitalised in the collision. According to police, a pedestrian was hit as well as the passenger and driver of the vehicle. Fortunately, while the injuries were concerning, they were not life-threatening. The driver was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Eyewitnesses described the terrifying moment. “There was a huge bang,” said one passer-by, “and then people started to gather around the car.” Another witness mentioned that a large cobblestone, described as a “monolith”,” may have saved the car from even greater damage.

The emergency services responded quickly, with three ambulances and the London Air Ambulance arriving at the scene. Crowds gathered around the scene until the police arrived to disperse them. Some witnesses reported that the driver had apparently tried to leave the scene but was stopped by the police.

The area is still partially cordoned off as the investigation continues. There are traffic disruptions and diversions, but police have confirmed that the incident is not terrorist related.
